Welcome spring with a Saturday morning hike on Arvada trails!
Join councilmember Mark McGoff, get to know Arvada trails, and enjoy a fine morning walk with family and friends!
The hikes are 9-11 am on March 23, April 6, April 20 and May 11. Besides your family and friends, bring water, sunscreen, good walking shoes and dress for the weather. Each hike is about four miles long. Here are the descriptions for each hike:
March 23: Meet at the Equestrian Center, on the east side of 75th and Indiana, then go west on Moon Gulch Trail beyond Quaker Street and return.
April 6: Meet at Pattridge Open Space parking lot, west 82nd Avenue and Leyden Road near Highway 93 in far northwest Arvada. We’ll hike east to the town of Leyden, view the memorial to the coal miners and return via the same route.
April 20: Meet at Standley Lake Library at 84th & Kipling. We will hike the Croke Ditch Trail east to Carr Drive and return via the Farmer’s Highline Canal trail.
May 11: Meet at Woodrun Park, Hoyt Drive at 81st Avenue. We will hike east on Little Dry Creek Trail around Pomona Lake, head back west beyond the starting point and on to Michael Northey Park and return.
