Do you enjoy listening to and supporting a fellow older adult? If so, Jefferson Center needs you! It’s easy to become a Senior Peer Counselor who provides caring support to a senior who may otherwise be isolated and alone. This volunteer program is as rewarding for you as it is for the recipient! We provide you with free training and ongoing professional support.

No formal, professional education is required, but applicants must be warm, caring, able to listen to others and open to learning skills that will enhance their abilities. Applicants must be 50 years or older; able to provide their own transportation; and meet for one hour, every other week, according to availability of volunteer and client, for a minimum of one year.
