Veteran Travel Reimbursement

The VA is streamlining its Beneficiary Travel Self-Service System (BTSSS) reimbursement for all eligible Veterans, including non-VA care known as Community Care. This program is available for online requests only with reimbursements received via direct deposit into the Veteran’s bank account.

To qualify, the Veteran must first receive a medical referral from their VA primary care provider and then obtain authorization. Proof of attendance at the medical appointment is required with all claims. Upon approval of the medical service, reimbursement is usually received within 7-10 business days.
