United Veterans Coalition of Colorado
Annual UVC Awards Banquet postponed until Aug. 23, 2020 ~
Since the formation of the United Veterans Coalition of Colorado in 1972, the UVC has become the premier veterans organization in Colorado which advocates and speaks with one voice for all veterans. The UVC works to assist veterans, active duty military service members, members of the National Guard, and their families.
The UVC has over 30 veteran member organizations that participate in the unified voice of the UVC. This “unified voice” allows the UVC to be a proactive statewide organization promoting legislation, humanitarian services, and educational activities for the best interest and welfare of veterans.
The UVC actively supports programs including, but not limited to, healthcare, community living centers, employment and training, education and rehabilitation, veteran homelessness, entitlements and benefits. The Coalition works with public policy makers to ensure proper support for veterans issues and concerns. Plus the UVC is actively informing Colorado citizens about the needs and high value contributions of its veterans.
To recognize all those that support and assist the veteran community, the UVC holds an annual awards banquet each spring. This year the banquet will take place at the Renaissance Hotel on Quebec Street in the Stapleton area of Denver. The banquet, due to COVID-19, has been postponed until Sunday, August 23, 2020. Reception and Silent Auction at begins 3:30 pm. Dinner and program will begin at 5:00 pm.
The UVC’s Keynote Speaker will be Janine Davidson. Ms. Davidson is currently president of Metropolitan State University of Denver. She has served as the 32nd undersecretary of the U.S. Navy and as Air Force Officer, where she flew tactical C-130s. Ms. Davidson has also been recognized by the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce in 2019 as one of the “Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Business”.
