TRU Community Care and St. Paul’s Senior Services Explore Strategic Partnership to Transform Senior Care Landscape

Lafayette, Colorado (April 18, 2024) – TRU Community Care and St. Paul’s Senior Services are exploring affiliation as two well-established nonprofit healthcare providers in Colorado and California, respectively. Under the leadership of Scott Gresser, President and CEO of TRU Community Care and Michael McHale, President and CEO of St. Paul’s Senior Services, organizational integration would allow TRU and St. Paul’s to expand the serious illness continuum of care that each currently provides, including senior services from independent living to memory care, PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly), palliative and hospice care, and community support programs such as bereavement services. This intentional partnership would preserve the legacies of both organizations while strengthening their abilities to provide patient-centered care to those living with chronic conditions or serious illness and their families who need it most.

TRU Community Care, founded as Boulder Hospice in 1976, was the first hospice in Colorado. Now approaching nearly 50 years of caring for Boulder and surrounding counties, TRU has grown from a small hospice serving 15 patients in 1977 to an innovative nonprofit healthcare organization serving more than 1,200 patients a day across TRU Hospice, TRU Palliative Care, TRU PACE, and Landmark Memory Care programs.

St. Paul’s Senior Services is a mission-driven San Diego nonprofit and full-service senior care provider established in 1960. With a reputation for providing exceptional care, St. Paul’s offers independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing communities as well as St. Paul’s PACE – San Diego’s first Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).

A due diligence process is currently underway. Financial terms were undisclosed at this time.
