BROOMFIELD, Colo. – Local nonprofit, A Precious Child, hosted its first of two Annual Heroes of A Precious Child Luncheon on Tuesday, October 20th, 2015 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Westin Downtown Denver. The event is A Precious Child’s largest annual fundraising event, bringing in hundreds of community members who raised over $80,000 to support A Precious Child’s mission to aid disadvantaged and displaced children in Colorado. Among those honored for their philanthropic efforts were former Colorado Rockies’ player Todd Helton and his family, who have been supporters of A Precious Child since it’s early years. The Helton’s eldest daughter, Tierney, eloquently charged the audience to help the organization in their mission to support Colorado children in her keynote address with her father.

A Precious Child is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide clothing, school supplies, sports equipment, diapers, formula, and many other basic essentials to underprivileged children in Colorado. As a nonprofit, A Precious Child relies on the generosity of community supporters to help children in need. Members of the community were invited to the luncheon to learn about A Precious Child’s efforts to support children in Colorado, to donate to A Precious Child’s cause, and to honor members of the community whose generosity has enabled A Precious Child to support children in need. This was the first Heroes of A Precious Child Luncheon to be held in Denver and the organization could not be more thrilled for its success. All proceeds will go towards providing clothes and other basic essentials to underprivileged children in Colorado.

“Since 2008, A Precious Child has provided clothing and essentials valued at over $9.5 million to more than 130,000 children and their caregivers,” said Carina Martin, CEO and Founder of A Precious Child. “This would not be possible without the support we receive from caring community members through events such as our luncheons.”

This year, A Precious Child will be hosting a second luncheon on Wednesday, November 4th, 2015 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Omni Interlocken Resort in Broomfield, Colorado. Boulder County District Attorney Stan Garnett will serve as the event’s emcee and the keynote speaker will be Robb Katz.
