Mindfulness for Health & Well-Being
Develop mindfulness in daily life by learning simple techniques that can improve your immune system, increase brain function, stabilize sleep habits, deepen relationships, and alleviate depression. As a successful businessman, corporate trainer, consultant, and non-profit director, instructor Ron Liggett has used these techniques to mitigate the effects of strokes, severe injuries and the personal tragedies and losses we all eventually experience. Keeping Your Brain Fit – Wednesday, March 15 at 12:45 p.m.
Unfortunately, memory “slip-ups” tend to occur more frequently with age. The good news is that what we eat and how much we exercise can have a profound effect on our brain and memory. Learn what nutrients our brains need and how adding more physical activity can affect the health of your brain. Presented by registered dietician Laura Brieser-Smith.

Animal Control – Wednesday, March 22 at 12:45 p.m.
Lead Animal Control Officer Janice O’Brien will discuss the role of officers and answer your questions about pets in your neighborhood or your own pet. FREE!

Medicare 101 – Tuesday, March 21 at 6:30 p.m.
Information is provided about Medicare enrollment, benefits, costs, what and how Medicare pays, choices under Medicare plans, how they work and prescription drug coverage. Fall Prevention – Friday, March 24 at 12:45 p.m.
This fall prevention presentation is for anyone who is 60 years or older, lives independently, has fallen or is fearful of falling. Alicia Luevano, RN with North Suburban Medical Center will talk about simple balance and strength training ideas, the role of vision in balance, how medications contribute to falls, safe footwear, along with home and community safety.
