Arts & Crafts: The Thornton Senior Center offers a variety of arts and craft classes. We have several on-going classes which follow a month long session schedule, as well as many one or two days specialty workshops throughout the year. Classes include Ceramics, Porcelain Dolls, Pottery and Painting Classes.

Computer Class Information: The senior center offers a wide variety of computer classes including, Mousing Around, Introduction to Windows, Intermediate Windows, Beginning Word Processing, Intermediate Word Processing, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Social Networking, Internet Basics, The Basics of Using Email, Introduction to Digital Cameras and more. Workshops & Lectures: Each month we offer a variety of informative and fun programs by way lecture or workshop. A nominal fee may be charged for these programs. Lectures include fitness and wellness seminars, health topics, financial, issues pertaining to seniors and more.

Medicare Counseling – Tuesday, December 8 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Trained volunteers will assist you with your Medicare issues. Appointments are required; please call 303-255-7850. Appointments are from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. FREE!

Medicare 101 – Tuesday, December 15 at 6:30 p.m.
Information is provided about Medicare enrollment, benefits, costs, what and how Medicare pays, choices under Medicare plans, how they work and prescription drug coverage. Reservations are required; please call 303-255-7850. Medicare classes are provided by Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP) Counselors. Angels Everywhere – Wednesday, December 9 at 12:45 p.m.
Join Sister Georgeann, BVM as she shares stories about how angels are helping us all of the time. Through her stories, Sister Georgeann creates a safe and comfortable atmosphere where people are invited to tell their experiences of miracles or coincidences in their lives. Come and listen or share your angel story. FREE!

55+ Organization Holiday Gift & Bake Sale – Friday, December 11 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Mark your calendars now for this annual event! You’ll find fine handmade items for those special people on your holiday shopping list or just pick up something for yourself!

Breakfast with Santa – Saturday, December 12 from 7:30 -10:30 a.m.
Get your wish list ready and bring your grandchildren, friends and neighbors to visit Santa Claus. Menu will include pancakes, ham, eggs, orange juice and coffee. Everyone is welcome. Photos with Santa will be available for an additional fee. Sponsored by the 55+ Organization. Fees: $4 adults, $2.50 kids 12 and under.

Caroling Party – Friday, December 18 at 12:45 p.m.
After lunch, we’ll get into the holiday spirit and to sing our hearts out. We’ll provide the song books and goodies, you provide the enthusiasm. All singing abilities and ages are welcome. FREE!

Candlelight Yoga – Monday, December 21 from 6-7:30 p.m.
Get in to the spirit of the season and join us for a peaceful evening of yoga and reflection. Please bring your own candle in a glass container. Previous yoga experience required.
