Hudson Gardens will host an opening celebration for the River Integration project on Wednesday, October 2 ~

Littleton, CO (September 12, 2019) – The Hudson Gardens & Event Center, with funding and support from Arapahoe County Open Spaces, the City of Littleton, and the South Suburban Parks and Recreation District, has completed the River Integration project after five years of planning and construction. This project improved connections between Hudson Gardens, the Mary Carter Greenway Trail (‘Trail’), and the South Platte River corridor. For new visitors and the thousands of people who already use these outdoor spaces, it marks a significant enhancement of the South Platte River corridor as a recreational resource.

Improvements include:

• A parking lot and an ADA-accessible, concrete trail which makes the Trail and the river corridor directly accessible from South Santa Fe Drive.
• A redesigned entry point between Hudson Gardens and the Trail where bench seating, public art, and planting beds surround an oval-shaped bluegrass lawn.
• Additional shade and seating areas at the snack shop and picnic area, which are adjacent to the Trail.

The public is cordially invited to attend the opening celebration of the River Integration project at The Hudson Gardens & Event Center. This free event will feature light refreshments as well as short speeches from project leaders and stakeholders, including Commissioner Kathleen Conti from Arapahoe County and Debbie Brinkman, Mayor of the City of Littleton.
