~ Now in its second year, the exhibit returns with new and established elements, designed to teach children about the properties of water ~
Denver, CO — It’s a sprawling exhibit filled to the brim with glistening water, fun contraptions and splish-splashing activities, perfect for engaging curious little minds with play-based summer learning. Just Add Water, the Museum’s outdoor Playscape complete with geysers, whirlpools, vortices, pumps, channels, fountains, spigots and spouts, will open Saturday, June 15 and run until August 22.
The exhibits four components, The Blank Slate Gallery, The Geysers, Whirlpools & Fountains and The Water Wheel each present a different way to develop and enhance children’s understanding of science. Children will explore concepts of volume, weight, pressure, force, buoyancy, density, trajectory, and displacement and will be encouraged to make decisions, formulate and test hypotheses, and engage problem-solving skills in this hands-in water laboratory.
All elements of Just Add Water were designed, developed and fabricated by the exhibits and education teams at the Children’s Museum of Denver, involving months of intentional planning and conceptualization to create the interactive experience. The result is a one-of-a-kind exhibit exclusive to the Children’s Museum of Denver that builds upon the Museum’s educational philosophy of fostering an environment of learning through play.
Just Add Water will be at the Children’s Museum of Denver throughout the summer, giving parents and caregivers a unique opportunity to continue their child’s learning while school is out for the summer.
All activities are included with Museum admission. Experiences are weather permitting.
Sponsored in part by Colorado Connections Academy.
