Taming Tax Policy/Taking on TABOR in 2019

The League of Women Voters of Denver is hosting Carol Hedges, Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Colorado Fiscal Institute on Monday, September 16 at 6:00 p.m. for a discussion of Colorado Proposition CC.  Proposition CC would allow the state to retain revenue for transportation and education rather than refund the excess revenue required by TABOR (Taxpayers Bill of Rights).  Hedges will also discuss the ramifications of the Colorado Supreme Court ruling that TABOR could be removed entirely with one vote in 2020. TABOR was approved by Colorado voters in 1992. The League opposed the measure then and has consistently worked for TABOR reform or repeal ever since.
