Spring Awards Ceremony to recognize heroes of the community

Arvada, CO – On Thursday, May 9 the Arvada Police Department will recognize officers and citizens making a difference in our community.

The Spring 2013 Arvada Police Awards celebration will take place at 7 p.m. on the main stage of the  Arvada Center at 6901 Wadsworth Blvd.

“These awards are special because we recognize not only our officers who show exemplary service to their community, but also the citizens who made the decision to get involved and who, by doing so, made a difference,” said Police Chief Don Wick.

In addition, the Arvada Police will recognize 2nd graders from Arvada elementary schools who participated in the 5th Annual Police Officer Appreciation coloring content.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend. The event is free, and coffee and desserts will be served immediately following the ceremony.
