Spring Art Show At Bemis Public Library
LITTLETON, CO – The Heritage Fine Arts Guild of Arapahoe County announces its member spring art show May 2-31 at Bemis Public Library in Littleton. The painting exhibit is free and open to the public.
The judge for the show is Sidney Ann Pitchford, an experienced artist and art instructor based in Denver. Ms. Pitchford formerly operated a private art studio in Naples, Florida. She studied at the University of Evansville and Indiana State University where she majored in fine arts. She will select nine winning artworks for awards including Best of Show.
The public is invited to meet the artists at a reception on Sun., May 8 from 2:00-3:30 p.m.; light refreshments will be served. Both the exhibit and the reception will be located in the library’s lower-level gallery, accessible by elevator. All the works are originals and available for sale directly from the participating artists.
Artists should call show co-chairs Linda Millarke (303-973-0867) or Orrel Schooler (303-798-6481) for details regarding entry and hanging requirements. The registration deadline is April 22 and each member artist may submit up to three entries for a total $20 fee.
New members are welcome to the Heritage Fine Arts Guild, which sponsors additional art shows, weekly painting sessions, workshops and demonstrations during the year. Annual membership is only $35.
The Bemis Public Library location is 6014 South Datura Street, halfway between West Littleton Boulevard on the north and West Caley Avenue on the south and about eight blocks east of Santa Fe Drive. The library is immediately west of the Littleton Museum. The art exhibit can be viewed any time the library is open. Hours are: Monday-Thursday 9:00 am-9:00 pm; Friday and Saturday: 9:00 am-5:00 pm; and Sunday 1:00-5:00 pm.

The Heritage Fine Arts Guild of Arapahoe County (www.heritage-guild.com) is a non-profit corporation organized in 1974 by Colorado artists. The Guild hosts art exhibits at several local Adventist hospitals and spring and fall art shows at Bemis Public Library in Littleton. In cooperation with Colorado Gallery of the Arts at Arapahoe Community College, the Guild holds “This is Colorado,” an annual, juried, statewide art show; the 2016 event is set for October 10-November 3. The Guild also sponsors weekly group painting sessions and workshops by accomplished guest artists. Membership is open to individuals at all levels of experience in fine arts media, as well as those interested in art appreciation. The Guild is supported in part by a grant from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District serving the seven-county Denver, Colorado, metropolitan area.
