Seniors’ Resource Center
Since 1978, Seniors’ Resource Center has been providing services to seniors. We started under Jefferson County Department of Social Services as a small department that handled inquiries about senior services and volunteer opportunities. Soon it became evident that there was a need for an agency dedicated to assisting seniors.
Today Seniors’ Resource Center provides services, resources and advocacy to over 24,500 people a year.
Seniors’ Resource Center (SRC) is a non-profit working to enhance independence, dignity and quality of life for older adults. SRC’s mission is to help people age at home, as long as possible, regardless of income. SRC supports older adults through services like care management, transportation, in home care, adult day programs, minor home repairs, and more. For over 41 years, SRC has helped thousands of people age safely at home. SRC serves the Denver metro area and nearby mountain communities.
SRC In-Home Care Services consist of non-medical, personal care on an individual basis, delivered by trained, insured, and bonded personal care providers who all complete criminal background checks, to older adults and homebound chronic disease sufferers. These services may include housecleaning, cooking, companionship, bathing and dressing, medication reminders, errands, laundry and other form as of assistance with activities of daily life.
Our Adult Day and Respite Services offer life enriching daily activities, homemade meals and an engaging social community for seniors. We also provide support and relief to you, the caregiver. We welcome people with a variety of needs and chronic conditions: Dementia/Alzheimer’s; stroke; chronic aging diseases such as diabetes or arthritis; or those who simply want to socialize and be around others.
Care Management at SRC will conduct an evaluation to identify your needs, and then build a comprehensive care plan for you. Through services, advocacy, and resource referrals, care managers will help you achieve the highest quality of life possible for your loved one. Our professional Care Managers can assess simple situations over the phone, and make a home visit when the needs are more complex. Care plans will honor your wishes and are flexible; they can be updated at any time to accommodate the many changes that occur in the lives of you and your loved one.
SRC also helps with chores at your home. They provide deep cleaning, yard work, organization, and decluttering services to many seniors in Jefferson, Broomfield, Denver, Adams, Clear Creek, and Gilpin counties.
Enjoy increased mobility and independence with our accessible and affordable transportation. Rides may be requested for any purpose, subject to availability. Certain needs, like medical appointments, may receive higher priority. Voluntary contributions are greatly appreciated and needed to help cover costs. Up to three round trips per week (exceptions can be made for medical purposes). Some trips that occur regularly (such as shopping, going to dialysis, etc.) can be placed into a subscription service so you don’t have to call each week. You can call for a “new rider packet” that includes important information, phone numbers, and everything you need to get started.
We also recruit and maintain a large base of volunteers who deliver important services to older adults, this past year we had 295 volunteers who gave 18,500 hours of their time. They deliver a range of services to older adults in the Jefferson County community. The three programs that served the most were minor home repair, neighbor to neighbor, and volunteer driving.
