Rocky Mountain Elder Law makes a move to Lakewood, Colorado
By Kate Silburn ~
As an elder law attorney, my mission is to give my clients and their families peace of mind by creating and preserving their legacy. I see myself as an advocate for my clients; I’m there to serve them with compassion and integrity. I’ve been working on elder law cases for over 20 years, and when I founded Rocky Mountain Elder Law two years ago, I did so to help the elderly and their families across Colorado’s Front Range.
I have a different perspective on elder law from many attorneys, which stems from having both a Masters of Divinity from Harvard and a law degree from Columbia. This makes me uniquely qualified to help families navigate end-of-life issues. Also, being a hospice chaplain, I understand the gravity of patient rights, palliative care delivery, and guardianship.
My services range from proactive planning, such as estate planning and Medicaid planning, to services you only call on when you need them, like estate administration, probate litigation, or setting up guardianships and conservatorships. I have seen first-hand what happens when there is no plan in place and the pain families can experience. As a starting point, I believe that everyone should have an estate plan. It is the final gift that you give to the people you love. I believe that you are never too old and never too young to start an estate plan, but you might be too late.
This summer, I’ve been proud to open my new office space in Lakewood, Colorado. It is conveniently located just off 6th Avenue and has accessible parking spaces and building access for those with mobility problems. I am available to serve new clients and look forward to being able to help you create and preserve your legacy.
