Retirees Can Still Make a Difference – Jan. 2014
Senior Tax Preparation Assistance Program. Tax season is coming and many volunteers are needed for this program that helps seniors prepare their taxes. Training is in January. Contact RSVP now!
Schools Where All Thrive Tutor/Mentor Program (SWAT): Help us prevent throwaway kids! Students not reading at grade level by the end of 4th grade have an 80% chance of not finishing school and dropping out. We place teams of senior volunteers to work with 2nd or 3rd grade students behind in their reading skills. You’ll help them practice reading and mentor them in productive life skills. Only 2 hours per week are required. We’re serving elementary schools in Adams Districts 1, 12, 50 and Brighton 27J. We need many more volunteers in each of these districts, but particularly in Brighton. We’re planning our early January training sessions for new volunteers, so it’s critical that you contact Ron Ausmus at 303-426-4408 or rausmus@seniorhub.org today for information and to help these kids!

- Disaster Prep Speakers Team to alert the public and especially senior citizens on the preparation needed for disasters. After the recent floods this is very timely, and we need help in our speaking events.
