Butterfly Pavilion Volunteers: Exhibit Ambassador; Rosie (Tarantula) Handler; Guest Services Ambassador; Field Trip Greeter; Grant Research Volunteer; Gift Shop Assistant; Horticulture Assistant
Urban Prairies Project Restoration Master Volunteer; Colorado Butterfly Network Monitoring Project.
Five Star Schools Vision/Hearing Screening Volunteers: Volunteers will work with students ages 6-14 from September to early November (3-4 schools/wk. Schools take 4-6 hours/day.) Training provided. Computer knowledge not needed. Must stand for extended periods, provide own transportation and have a state photo ID.
Meals on Wheels (MOW) Drivers: Aurora, Brighton, and Senior Hub (west Adams County): Driver routes available Monday – Saturday, take about 1-2 hours. Deliver once a week or more as your schedule allows. Due to a driver shortage some seniors are now on waiting lists for meal delivery. Please call RSVP now.
Senior Hub In-Home Care Dept: Volunteer caregivers for light housekeeping duties/shopping; and also companionship phone callers. (Calling can be done from home.)
CRC Senior Peer Counseling Program: Meet with an older adult in their home 1hr/week to listen and support them. CRC Senior Peer Counseling Program trains senior peer counselors to help senior clients.
Community Gardeners: Adams Community Garden CO-OP needs helpers for this season. Share the produce and help donate fresh veggies to food banks and pantries. Last year we donated 5.5 tons!
Platte Valley Med Ctr Ambassadors (Brighton): Emergency Room waiting area, main lobby, and women’s radiology. Must engage people, offer help, be able to push wheelchairs, serve for 4 hour shifts.
Help Adams Dists. 1, 12, 50 and 27J with the Schools Where All Thrive Program helping 2nd/3rd graders with reading, or with the general elementary program. Contact: Ron Ausmus about SWAT at rausmus@seniorhub.org, or Tom Rapp about the general program. Help for 2hrs/week.
Arapahoe County Human Services: On-Call Respite Volunteer; Foster Family Respite/Support Asst; Parenting Time Program Asst; Kidz Night Out; Info. Ambassador; Clerical Asst. Call RSVP.
Aurora Health Access: Volunteers are needed to help in any of several ways: Serving on boards and committees; helping with filing and clerical tasks; answering phones; receptionist duties. Call RSVP.
CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Adams/Broomfield Counties: Assure that children who can’t live safely at home have someone to fight for their safety, dignity and passage through foster care.
