Volunteering in the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is easy. Complete an enrollment for matching your interests to volunteering needs. We’ll find a spot that fits and add your volunteer hours to the total we send our federal sponsors showing how much seniors help in their communities. Adams/E. Arapahoe RSVP finds volunteering for those 55 and up in Adams County, and Arapahoe County east of I-25. Sponsors are: Corporation for National and Community Service, and The Senior Hub, Inc. Contact Tom Rapp 303-955-6609 or trapp@seniorhub.org., to find out about current volunteer needs.

Totes of Hope Student Assistance Program: Two Wednesday mornings each month 1750 totes are packed by volunteers with food items for homeless or disadvantaged students living in the Adams 12 Five Star School District. We need 10-15 additional volunteers. Contact RSVP for details and to help.
Help in Adams County elementary schools in our general elementary tutoring program, or in the Schools Where All Thrive Tutor/Mentor Program (SWAT) working with 2nd and 3rd grade students behind in their reading skills. We serve in Adams 1, 12, 50 and 27J and will begin in District 14 in Commerce City. We need 20-30 more volunteers for new schools and to replace volunteers who werenÕt able to continue with us this year. If you like younger kids and have 2 hours per week to help we need you. SWAT training sessions are being scheduled now, so call Ron Ausmus at 303.993.3062 or rausmus@seniorhub.org to find out about SWAT. Or to learn about our other general elementary program call Tom Rapp at 303-955-6609 or trapp@seniorhub.org.
Military Veterans Health and Help Squads: Be the listening ears and helping hands for other veterans, military members and families. This program is for military vets and/or spouses (55 or older). Squads of vets/vet spouses visit with squad members by phone, help with activities, share meals and attend events together. Some help at the Colorado Veterans Home. Both men’s and women’s squads are open. Tell your vet friends so they can join a squad with you. ItÕs fun! Call Tom Rapp for information.
Senior Peer Counseling Program: A new program through Community Reach Center will train senior volunteers to help other seniors who need someone to talk with, listen to their ideas and needs, and be a caring person in their lives. Call RSVP for further information.
RSVP Disaster Preparedness Team: We need more places to present this vital information about being prepared in advance for natural or other disasters. We also need more team members to give these talks so everyone, especially seniors can be adequately prepared if a disaster strikes.
