Rescued Dogs and Beauty Queens to attend Fundraising Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Wheat Ridge, CO – May 6th, 2019 4:30pm-6pm: Jersey Mike’s Subs in Applewood Plaza is celebrating a successful two months open by donating all proceeds to K9 Global Rescue all day long. During this time, they will present Wheat Ridge High School with funds raised for them during their first five days open.

Joining in the fundraising celebration will be seven Colorado beauty queens, three rescued dogs, members of the W.R. Chamber of Commerce, and more.

The new hands-on franchise owners are actors and entrepreneurs, Donn Berdahl (college basketball referee) and Rosanna Iversen-Berdahl (world champion martial artist, former Miss Massachusetts USA and Mrs. California.)

Charitable recipient “K9 GLOBAL RESCUE” is a Denver-based dedicated group of former combat veterans working for the humanity of dogs and all living animals.

In attendance will be Jesse, Gracie, and Apollo, all rescued from the Korean Dog Meat Trade. The Asian dog meat trade is one of the most serious animal welfare issues throughout Asia. The conditions under which dogs are farmed, transported, and slaughtered are inhumane and barbaric. Many are stolen pets, most live in heinous caged conditions throughout their lives, and are tortured for hours before being boiled and skinned alive. The reason for this is a belief that the pain inflicted leads to the tenderizing of the meat. Most shocking is that some dogs are still alive when their fur is removed, and paws and tails are cut off.

Making special appearances from 4:30pm to 6pm to assist in K9 Global Rescue’s efforts through fundraising, offering photo and autograph opportunities will be: Sydney Boehler, Miss Colorado Teen USA 2019 seen last week on the Miss USA livestream competing at nationals from Reno, NV; Rylan Coleridge, official “Talk to the Camera” 2019 Ambassador and Miss Colorado Elementary 2019; Alina Perry, CO International Jr Miss; Jessina Amaya, Miss International CO Jr Teen; Valeria Diaz, Miss CO International Pre-Teen; and Addysion Kulp, Miss CO International Princess.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 5:15pm.

Contributions can be made directly in store or by way of purchases (vegetarian, gluten-free, and keto available) on Monday, May 6th, 10am-9pm, or through Rosanna’s Facebook fundraiser: https://www.facebook.com/donate/601026237030423/601026253697088/
