Ramblings of a Rambler – Sept. 2014

Ramblings of a RamblerHi Prime Timers, I hope everyone enjoyed our wonderful Colorado summer. It’s time for it to head out and Bronco Season to arrive. There is something in the fall air that makes me think of football. I’m pretty excited looking at the 2014 Broncos, the team everyone will be gunning for!! Being the top AFC team everyone will be up for their game with the Broncos. . .

As I’ve said in the past, I’m a Philadelphia fan. I try not to get my hopes up too high as many times they’ve been crushed. Philly looks good this year. I won’t go further than that. . .

I hope you enjoy this months publication. Some very good people sent in great information for you to read. We receive a lot of calls asking us about submitting articles. Our only guideline is that it has to have good information that will benefit our readers. It’s okay to give your business a plug at the end of the article, but the content of the article must be informative.

I was sitting in my office at home writing this column when my 18 month old granddaughter wandered in with her bottle looking for a place to get comfortable. It didn’t take long before she was in my lap, reclined with her feet up on the desk as I typed while reaching with one hand. My wife Deb came in and wondered aloud why she would come into me. I told her it was very simple, I’m a human bean bag. Very comfortable. It was the best half hour of my week. . .

September is National Ovarian Cancer month. There are many families that have been affected by this disease. We have a great article on page 23. . .

When it comes to politics and religion I like to keep that personal. I respect everyone’s right to their opinion. Simply put I’m a middle of the road type of guy who believes in God. Having said this, we have two articles in this months paper. Robin Avery has written a good article on Gun Violence and Ronnie McBrayer has a beautiful article on 911 and how Love was the last word of those who perished.

As always let us know your thoughts about the paper. We care about your opinion. You are the reason we are Denver’s #1 Senior Newspaper. Call me at 303-945-4506 or email me at bill@myprimetimenews.com. . .
Enjoy your day!
Bill
