Hi Prime Timers! Can you believe it’s May already? I’ve been enjoying the blossoms on our trees and hoping that the flowering isn’t interrupted with a snowfall which has been the case in the past. Two years ago, we lost a beautiful cherry tree after a late snowfall. The weight of the snow split the tree in half and landed on our driveway. Bummer!
Deb and I were lucky to be invited by friends to see the Phillies play the Rockies at Coors Field a few weeks ago. I can’t tell you how much we enjoy taking the train into town, especially if we’re going to see the Rockies. The walk from Union Station to Coors field is shorter than most of the parking spots at the ballpark. I was surprised to see all the eateries and bars along the walk to the park. It was a beautiful night and a good game with the Rockies taking the win. I love going to Coors Field to watch a ballgame, it’s the perfect atmosphere.
I know it’s early but after watching the NFL draft I can’t wait for football season. The Broncos are playing in the toughest division in the NFL. I really can’t remember any division as loaded as the AFC West in my fandom. The Broncos are going to be fun to watch this year. The offseason changes and recent draft picks have expectations as high as they ever were. I’m thinking a white-knuckle season, competitive in every game. My heart is beating fast just thinking about it.
Hey, looks like things seem to be getting back to “normal”. We’re excited to be returning to in-person events again. Woohoo! The Senior Connection will have two events this month, May 10th at the Elks Event Center, Arvada and May 24th at the Elks Event Center, Longmont. It’s always a great time and we can’t wait to get back out and see our friends!
