Ramblings of a Rambler – Feb 2017
Hello Prime Timers! We are already starting the second month of the New year. We would like to highlight this edition by acknowledging February as American Heart Month which Lyndon B. Johnson first declared it as being such in 1964. Cardiovascular disease is the number 1 killer for both men and women. Knowledge is power so we need to do our research to educate ourselves regarding the risks and symptoms so we may be able to prevent this disease in our own lives.
We would also like to acknowledge that February is Black History Month which is in celebration of the achievements of black Americans and a time to recognize and observe the central roles of African Americans in U.S. History.
Oh, and by the way, we would like to wish everyone a Very Happy Valentine’s Day. February may be a short month but it is very eventful!
If you’ve been watching TV lately you may think our country is coming apart at the seams. Don’t worry, we’ll be ok! It’s up to us, the citizens, to have a government that represents all of us. Let your voice be heard. Let your elected officials know your thoughts…
