Ramblings of a Rambler – Dec. 2017
~ By Bill Watson, Publisher ~
Hi Prime Timers! It’s that time of year where we reflect on the past months as 2017 comes to a close. It is hard to believe that another year has passed and we are about to welcome the 2018 New Year. I think it is true that time really does fly! We hope everyone had a good year without much adversity and a wonderful Thanksgiving. It certainly is a time to give thanks and gratitude for all our Blessings whatever they may be. As we move forward to the New Year we here at Prime Time would like to wish everyone a year of Peace, Health, Happiness and Prosperity!!
Deb and I had the honor of being invited to Cooper’s Troopers celebration of the 242th Birthday of the United States Marine Corp. Cooper’s Troopers is a monthly luncheon group made up of veterans from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, the Middle Eastern wars and all the in-between conflicts. They have been gathering since the 1990’s and have marked the Marine birthday with a cake cutting ceremony ever since. This year the guest speaker was Jack Thurman who took part in the famous flag raising on Iwo Jima. Photos of the event and a history of Cooper’s Troopers appears on page 13 of this month’s edition. God Bless all of them for their sacrifice and service to our country…
You may have noticed I’m not saying anything about the Philadelphia Eagles (my team). I’m not going to…Jinx them…
The Broncos seem to be in tough spot but I think they will find a way. Their division is the shaky one this year, under 10 wins may get you in the playoffs…
As 2017 comes to a close we would like to wish everyone a Safe Holiday Season and a very Merry Christmas. We thank you for supporting our paper in providing important information to our seniors…
