Ramblings of a Rambler – April 2021

Hi Prime Timers! As I write this column I’m a bundle of nerves. Many moons ago I started
losing the battle with dental hygiene. I quit smoking a decade ago. I didn’t like chewing gum
so I used Jolly Ranchers to pass the cravings. Needless to say, my hygiene suffered with a
constant bathing of sugar. A tooth gone here, a root canal there. The past 10 years have been
nothing but a pain in the mouth.

Well in three days (from this writing) I’ll be going all in for a full mouth restoration. What does that mean? I’m having oral surgery for a full mouth of implants. That means take out what’s in there now and replace with implants. I’m looking forward to ending the constant pain and discomfort I’ve been experiencing lately and getting through a day without Ibuprofen and Orajel. I should have had this done months ago but I tried to schedule my procedure after the holidays and to not conflict with publishing dates of the paper. And now the time is here…
Although I’m nervous, the folks at Dentist office, where I’m having the procedure are great. They’re giving me a ton of confidence going into the procedure. Covid precautions are throwing a little wrench into the procedure in the sense that my wife Deb will not be able to wait for me in the office. She’ll get a call when it’s time to come and fetch me…Lucky her!
I was expecting 2021 to be better than 2020 mostly because it was such a low bar to clear. A
few days into the new year and the Eagles have gone crazy. It’s not easy being an Eagles fan.
Eh, I really don’t care, okay, maybe a little bit but my attention has been on the vaccine. Hopefully
most of us will have that protection by our next edition. I can’t wait for life to get a little
more open. I miss people!!
