Diabetes Basics and Nutrition Class

This introduction to diabetes will set the stage for you to gain a solid understanding of what diabetes is, as well as basic management principles, including a healthy meal plan with foods you like! This class is also the perfect stepping stone to additional classes on stress, exercise, medications and dodging diabetes complications. KIDS’ Flu Clinics

- $30 – High dose Flu vaccine (65 years and over)
- $35 – Pneumonia vaccine

Bonfils Blood Drive

Stroke Recovery Support Group

For patients and their families who have experienced a stroke, the emotional strain can often be overwhelming. Platte Valley Medical Center (PVMC) offers free support through its Stroke Recovery Group to help patients and their families connect with others while learning about valuable community resources. Cardiac Support Group
Tuesday, November 12, 12:30 – 2:00 p.m.
If you are currently being treated for heart disease and would be interested in meeting other patients, this group is for you. We offer a forum of mutual respect and courtesy about the challenges and insights your illness has presented. Meeting agendas include guest speakers discussing topics related to cardiac disease, and new information regarding treatment, medicines, and prognoses. Heart-healthy recipes might also be exchanged at meetings, and the support group may choose to publish a newsletter. Total Joint University

Total Joint University (TJU) is a class for individuals who are scheduled for, or are contemplating, a joint replacement procedure. TJU is designed to provide the information you need – from pre-op, to day of, to your hospital stay and recovery – to help you proceed with confidence. Cancer Support Group
Saturdays, November 9 & 23, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Platte Valley Medical Center offers a monthly support group to help cancer patients and their families cope with the uncertainties and overwhelming feelings that cancer brings. Research shows that a support group can help people emotionally and even improve their physical health through treatment. The Cancer Support Group in held in the hospital’s Oncology Clinic, which is located at 1606 Prairie Center Parkway in Suite 270 of the Medical Office Building.
