Olde Town Fountain will operate for a shortened season
ARVADA, CO ~ The City of Arvada has been working with Denver Water to reduce their overall water use in parks and public amenities during this Stage II Drought. Through cutbacks across the system, the CityÕs expects to exceed the goal of a 20% reduction. With this goal met, Arvada residents and visitors will soon be able to enjoy the Fountain in Olde Town Square.
“The fountain will begin operating as soon as crews are able to complete their annual maintenance to the system,” explained Wendy Forbes, Communications Manager for the City of Arvada. “Barring no issues, the fountain will begin operating no later than Friday, June 7, possibly sooner.”
The daily fountain times will be:
- 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
- 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
- 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Since the fountain typically is turned on May 1, this shortened operating season does help the overall reduction of water usage from this source. Once operational, the fountain will run through September 30, 2013.
