North Metro Fire Rescue District To Host Toy Drive and Santa Visit
Help Local Nonprofit Fulfill Gift Wishes for Colorado Children in Need This Holiday Season ~
BROOMFIELD, Colo.— North Metro Fire Rescue District is partnering with local nonprofit A Precious Child to collect gifts for thousands of underprivileged children in Colorado this holiday season through its 8th annual Precious Gift program. In addition to a toy drive North Metro Fire is currently running now through December 16th, they are also hosting a complimentary Santa visit for the families in the local community on December 8th from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Station 62 (10550 Huron St. in Northglenn). Children and families will be able to have their picture taken with Santa, enjoy snacks, and tour the fire station. This year’s event is free and open to the public with the request that residents bring an unwrapped new toy to donate to A Precious Child.
Last year, with the help of community partners, Precious Gift provided gifts to more than 7,000 children facing life challenges such as abuse, neglect, homelessness, and poverty. This year, the goal is to provide gifts to 7,400 children in need. North Metro Fire is a long-standing supporter of A Precious Child and continues to help the organization serve children in the community through programs like Precious Gift.
“Providing a gift to a child in need during the holidays allows them to experience the joy of childhood as well as a sense of normalcy during a time in their life that is anything but normal,” said Carina Martin, CEO and Founder of A Precious Child.
There are several ways individuals, schools, churches, corporations, and other organizations can help provide gifts for Colorado children in need, including hosting a toy drive, organizing a fundraiser event, fulfilling a child’s gift wish or donating online at APreciousChild.org. Community members can also provide sponsorship at various levels – all of which help Precious Gift’s mission of providing gifts to underprivileged children.
Community members that are interested in participating in Precious Gift this year are encouraged to donate $50, which will sponsor one child. This can be done online at APreciousChild.org.
