New Year Brings New Learning Opportunities for Local Seniors
With the new year in full swing, local seniors are invited to enjoy new learning opportunities through free classes at St. Andrews Village and Harvard Square, Watermark Retirement Communities. The courses, which are offered through Watermark University, focus on the multiple facets of senior wellness. St. Andrews Village is located at 13801 East Yale Avenue in Aurora, CO and Harvard Square is located at 10200 East Harvard Avenue in Denver, CO.
“It’s well understood that seven dimensions contribute to well-being for seniors,” said Patrick Raab, Executive Director at St. Andrews Village. “They are intellectual enrichment, social engagement, spirituality, emotions, vocation, physical health and one’s environment. Our classes integrate these components while promoting new friendships and lots of fun.”
Watermark University is a joint effort by residents, associates, family members and the public, who come together to teach and take courses. Classes offered over the next few months include:
- St. Andrews’s Village: Tap Dancing, Live 2 B Healthy, Expressions in Paint, Active Minds: Music Appreciation, and Active Minds: World Issues
- Harvard Square: Desserts with Chef Sejla, Watercolor Creations, National Parks, Dog Therapy, Brain Games, Spanish for All, and Poetry Reading
