ANSWER: “I don’t know… YET”
As a voter and candidate for Ward 3’s open City Council seat, I need to research why such a new tax is a good thing or just another way to take our money … and let our Voters know what I find.
Those with whom I have talked (who should know the answer and are current politicians) say it is a GOOD thing.
As a person from Missouri would say: “SHOW ME!”
HEH, I was raised in Colorado from 1946 but discovered this phrase came from Leadville Colorado in the 1800’s
Other versions of the “Show-Me” legend place the slogan’s origin in the mining town of Leadville, Colorado. There, the phrase was first employed as a term of ridicule and reproach. A miner’s strike had been in progress for some time in the mid-1890s, and a number of miners from the lead districts of southwest Missouri had been imported to take the places of the strikers. The Joplin miners were unfamiliar with Colorado mining methods and required frequent instructions. Pit bosses began saying, “That man is from Missouri. You’ll have to show him.

With a background as a Commercial Bank Vice President, self-employed Management Consultant, and Software analyst/consultant for a major medical software company, I need to spend the time, the effort, the curiosity to come to a learned and independent understanding of the REAL impact.
My VOTE, on November 7th, will be based on knowledge which I have researched … from qualified sources … by qualified people … BEFORE I vote for or against this November 7, 2017 ballot issues.
WHAT ABOUT YOUR VOTE? Will you take the time and effort to research your own decision? … OR simply listen to the spin offered by the media. So much of our incoming ‘information’ is open to question and it is hard to get REAL ANSWERS.
Something to think about!
