Ms. Colorado Senior America Pageant Looking for Contestants
The 2015 Ms. Colorado Senior America Pageant will be held on June 27, 2015, at the Performing Arts Complex, Pinnacle Charter School, 1001 West 84th Avenue, Denver, CO. The Ms. Colorado Senior America Pageant is a non-profit organization created to emphasize and give honor to women with extraordinary talent and achievements who have reached the “Age of Elegance” (age 60 plus), and who would love to continue using her talents to enrich the lives of others. All participating contestants become automatic members of the Colorado Cameo Club, the supporting arm of the pageant.
Colorado Cameo Club is full of vibrant, youthful senior women who still have so much to give to their community, love the camaraderie and sharing of their experiences, and perform in showcases throughout the year in order to fund the pageant. Showing great commitment, four members are 90 years of age and over and are still actively contributing. Norma Rachlin, 92, still paints her lovely landscapes and seascapes, and will be selling 12 of them at the Pageant with all proceeds being donated to the Ms. Colorado Senior America Pageant organization. Ginny Butler, 90, is a tap dancer who competed in 2006, and is still lighting up the stage, appearing in every pageant since then (counting the 2015 pageant has her ninth in a row), and she still graces the dance floor at showcases. Henrietta O’Brien, 91, singer and B.J. Rembe, 90, pianist, are also still very active in the club and perform in showcases.
If you would like to be a part of this exciting organization and Pageant, you are encouraged to apply. To be a contestant, contact Debbie Buczkowski, Pageant Administrator at 303-570-5394 or email db4truth@outlook.com or Peggy Stanley, Pageant Recruiter, 303-284-7013. The application deadline is May 15. During the pageant, contestants will be judged by a panel of judges. The criteria will be based on a private interview, the contestant gracing the stage in her evening gown and stating her philosophy of life, as well as performing her talent. After being crowned Ms. Colorado Senior America 2015 by Sharon Nuanes, Ms. Colorado Senior America 2014, this elegant queen will be flown to Atlantic City, N.J. in October, where she will compete for the national title of Ms. Senior America.
