Preparing to Hike the Summer Front Range

Englewood is an awesome base camp for day hikers. Hiking is a low cost and addictive habit, and has the side effect of being incredibly good for you. With so much great hiking close by, it is important to know how and where to begin. Using photographs, Pete will present the geography, flora, and fauna, and discuss the simple clothing, equipment, and safety considerations needed to enjoy our incredible backyard. Plus, hiking strategies such as pacing, timing, and seasons. He will wrap with some of his favorite trail choices as described in his guidebook, Base Camp Denver: 101 Hikes in Colorado’s Front Range, and delve into the stories that go with them. Bring your curiosity, and get ready to share your own stories by hiking these dazzling trails!
The Probate Process

What should you know if you are a beneficiary? We’ll answer these questions and talk about some of the tools available to you to avoid probate of your estate. Beginning Line Dance
Step up the pace in this beginning class. Learn more steps while perfecting the vine, weave and shuffle. This class is for dancers who have some line dance experience. Instructor: Judy Curtis, Wednesday’s, 9-10:00am, SilverSneakers eligible, $5/drop-in or register for the session.

Walk & Stretch for Power
Intentional and power walking is a great way to burn calories while keeping mobile. This includes stretching and proper walking techniques for fitness and, if interested competition. Set your goal and challenge yourself in this unique community experience. Instructor: Liz Shepard, Wed. 9-10am, $16/$13
Move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement.
