Local business to paint homes free of charge for qualifying seniors

Wheat Ridge, CO ~ The Wheat Ridge Police Department is looking for nominations in the annual Brother Redevelopment Paint-A-Thon. The average cost to paint a home can be well over $5000. Wheat Ridge based Brothers Redevelopment is celebrating their 35th anniversary by offering to paint the homes of over 100 of our seniors free of charge.

Anyone can nominate a senior for the free Paint-A-Thon. To qualify, individuals must be 60 years or older, own and occupy their own home and plan to live in it at least one more year. Seniors must have a limited income and be financially unable to hire a house painter. The home can’t be taller than 1 ½ stories and must be in need of painting.

All applications are due by May 31st. The form is available on the Brothers Redevelopment website at http://www.brothersredevelopment.org. An application can also be requested by calling Paint-A-Thon Coordinator Chad Nibbelink at 720-339-5864. Organizers of the Paint-A-Thon are also looking for volunteers to help paint the homes as well.
