Lay Ministry in Area Churches
Stephen Ministry has been around for years. This year it is expanding in the north Metro area Broomfield, Louisville, Lafayette, and other communities.
In today’s world it is easy to feel overwhelmed and lost when tragedies and difficulties arise such as loss of a loved one, serious illness, divorce, and other life changes. A Stephen Minister can help.
Stephen Ministers are congregation members from a variety of churches who have gone through 50 hours of training to provide confidential one-on-one Christian care to people going through a crisis or difficult time. A Stephen Minister meets with his or her care receiver once a week for an hour to listen, care, pray, and provide emotional support and spiritual encouragement. Men are matched with male Stephen Ministers and women are matched with female Stephen Ministers.
Stephen Ministry is a program that equips thousands of congregations worldwide to provide distinctively Christian care to people within congregations or the community at large. One Stephen Ministry group is headquartered in a Broomfield church. For more information on becoming a lay minister or to request a Stephen Minister for yourself contact Pastor Dave Christensen at firstname.lastname@example.org or Judy McGoogan at email@example.com.
