ThinkFirst Fall Prevention Class 

Falls are the leading cause of unintentional injury deaths for people over age 65, and a leading reason for emergency room visits in the United States each year. Falls can cause brain injuries, hip fractures and other devastating consequences. Many falls could be avoided through simple preventative measures. ThinkFirst To Prevent Falls is now available as a presentation on the basics of fall prevention for older adults.

We’ve all experienced that unfamiliar phone number that we answer, only to have an automated voice tell us about our “extended car warranty”, but did you know that this is just one of hundreds of scams that target consumers to try to get access to your money and personal information. Join the us as we explore the world of frauds and scams and hear about the most common scams and how to prevent becoming a victim.

Rodz & Bodz Museum

Rodz and Bodz is the first movie car dedicated museum in Colorado history. Founded on the premise that all ages can enjoy the history and dazzling presence of movie vehicles, hot rods, vintage cars, and more in an impressive automotive gallery.  Price includes transportation and ticket.  Lunch is on your own.

Cherry Cheesecake Trip

Join us for a local taste of cheesecakes at Cherry Cheesecake as we explore a baking expedition, sampling baked goods.  You can purchase goods with a 10% discount at the end of our visit. 

We will be walking from the Senior Center to Cherry Cheesecake located near East Simpson Coffee shop.  Trip includes transportation and tasting.

Making at the Library Makerspace! 

The Lafayette Library is a treasure!  Come check out the Makerspace to create a wonderful project.  Each month the projects are different.   Check ahead of time, as you may need to bring additional supplies.  Monthly projects are offered, but additional projects are available too.

Have you ever wondered what Lafayette and its residents looked like in past decades of the 20th Century?  Join us for Senior Learning Club to hear some exciting stories of happenings in Old Lafayette and you’ll get to see digitized photos available through the Lafayette Library website that you can explore from anywhere.

Sgt. Peppers Lonely Bluegrass Band is a collection of four very different musicians creating a new sound from the greatest music ever written by the greatest band ever… The Beatles. Sgt. Having Choice at the End of Life

Join Sue Mackey of Out of the Box End-of-Life Planning in a presentation and conversation about how to prepare for your end-of-life in a way that communicates your values and wishes with your loved ones. We’ll talk about Dementia Directives (most people’s biggest fear), and what to include in a Personal Statement to give your loved one’s guidance, and how to even discern what it is you might prefer.

ESTATE PLANNING MADE EASY  

Wills, powers of attorney and living wills – get a tough job finished! In a single, easy session, you’ll complete a will, financial power of attorney and combined medical directive (including living will, medical power of attorney and organ donation), all with the help of Colorado licensed attorney Mike Anderson. This class includes all materials, witnessing, notarizing, individual review, and plenty of time for discussion and questions. Participants do not need to bring anything to the program. Fee is per person. Space is limited. Must register at least one week prior to the program.   

  • Age: 60+ FREE – (Sponsored by Boulder County Area Agency on Aging. Must be resident of Boulder County.) 
  •  $125 for non- Boulder County residents who are 60 and older 
  • Age 21-59: Residents: $125/Non-Residents: $150
