Senior Artist Showcase
Art displayed September 1-30
Artists, age 55 or better, are invited to display 2-D artwork for the month of September. The entire community is invited to enjoy these pieces located at the Lafayette Senior Center during the month of September. Submissions are due by August 27th. Contributing artists will be honored at the Artist Reception on October 1. This is a showcase of our amazing artists in our community and not a juried show. Stories help us make sense of our world, impart a lesson, pass down history, and more. They teach us to love, to forgive, to be just and to strive for better than we have. Join Spellbinders’® trained veteran storytellers and new volunteers as they bring a variety of story genres to life.

Estate Planning Made Easy
Wills, powers of attorney and living wills – Get a tough job finished! In a single, easy session, you’ll complete a will, financial power of attorney and combined medical directive (including living will, medical power of attorney and organ donation), all with the help from Colorado licensed attorney Mike Anderson. Includes all materials, witnessing, notarizing, individual review and plenty of time for discussion and questions. Participants do not need to bring anything to class. Fee is per person.
Age: 60+ FREE – (Sponsored by Boulder County Area Agency on Aging. Must be resident of BoCo.)

Tai Chi 1
Tai Chi is exercise that is easy and gentle. Tai Chi develops body awareness that can help balance. It encourages one to be healthy and mobile to maintain their independence and lead full lives. It is exercise that is great for newbies, older people and people who don’t like to sweat too much.

Meet others that want to take a walk around old town Lafayette or at one of our local Open Space/parks. Walk times range according to the group, location of walk and weather (45-60 minutes). Bring your walking sticks if you have them. Best part is that at the end we will meet at a coffee shop to enjoy some refreshments, so don’t forget to bring money.

Day at the Denver Zoo – Denver Level 1 Walking
Let’s visit the Denver Zoo and take in the new attractions. Explore Tropical Discovery, Toyota Elephant Passage, Sting Ray Cove, The Edge and much more. Since we will be outside wear clothes according to the weather and comfortable shoes. Bring money for lunch at the zoo.

Manitou Cog Railway– Manitou Level 3 Walking
All Aboard!! Take a ride on the newly renovated Manitou Cog Railway to the top of Pikes Peak. Take in the breathtaking 360 degree view at the newly renovated visitor center. Wear appropriate clothing for the day and bring water, sunscreen and wear comfortable shoes for lots of walking. Bring money for lunch and trinkets at the visitor center. Register by August 10.

Chautauqua Historic Loop Hike-Boulder Level 2 walking
Learn about the Chautauqua National Landmark District, about quarrying sandstone in Boulder, the old Chautauqua Ski area and the Civilian Conservation Corps. Great way to get outdoors and enjoy a hike in the foothills. This hike will last approximately 2 hours and is 3.6 miles. Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather, bring water and snacks and money for lunch afterwards.
