Kellee Jackson Joins COAW Staff as Program Coordinator
Lakewood, Colorado — Kellee Jackson has joined the staff of the Consortium for Older Adult Wellness (COAW) in the Lakewood, Colo., office. Jackson is a bilingual program coordinator for COAW and will oversee programming for rural health centers and organizations in Colorado as well as bilingual programs offered in Spanish across the state.
Jackson has a background in community health outreach and previously worked with a health self-management outreach organization for migrant dairy farmers in Vermont and with an exercise rehabilitation project with cancer patients. A native of New Hampshire, Jackson has a bachelor’s degree in Health and the Environment in addition to completing the pre-medical curriculum. She has studied abroad in Argentina.
“I’m interested in how to address health issues from a self-management standpoint,” Jackson said. “I’m passionate about giving people the tools to take care of themselves to avoid and manage chronic conditions.”
Jackson’s appointment to COAW expands the organization’s outreach of evidence-based disease prevention and management programs throughout Colorado.
COAW provides wellness programs for adults by connecting health systems to community-based organizations in the areas of health self-management and falls prevention, through evidence-based classes.
