Kavod Senior Life Announces Its 2nd Annual Food Truck Event
DENVER, CO – Kavod Senior Life will host its 2nd annual “Food Truckin’ on South Adams Street” on Thursday, August 25 at 5:30pm. The event is a celebration of Kavod’s success over the year and will serve as a fundraiser for its new health and wellness center.
“The inaugural Food Truckin’ on South Adams Street was a huge hit last year, so we are bringing it back to the community,” commented Gaile Weisbly Waldinger, Director of Development at Kavod Senior Life. “This event is a great opportunity to network, enjoy a fun evening out and help contribute to the health and wellness of our residents and other seniors in Denver.”
Food Truckin’ on South Adams Street is generously sponsored by Cherry Creek Shopping Center, Denver Agency, HITT Construction, MidFirst Bank, and Syntrinsic Investment Council. The festive event will feature food trucks with cuisine from around the world, and kosher options will be included as well as adult beverages. A live band will play all night for guests, led by Rabbi Joe Black.
Tickets can be purchased online at https://www.kavodseniorlife.org/foodtruck/ or by calling 720.382.7807. General and VIP tickets are available as well as a special price for young professionals.
Last year, the Food Truckin’ event raised over $25,000 for Kavod Senior Life. These funds were used to help renovate Kavod’s dining room. This year, proceeds will be used to help Kavod build a comprehensive health and wellness center in the top floor of its West building (one of its three buildings in Cherry Creek). The center will be used as a place where health providers in physical and mental health will come and provide service to Kavod’s 400 residents. In addition, a number of exercise and fitness programs will also be offered. Services will be coordinated under Kavod’s Health and Wellness Director and four care coordinators.
The center will also be open to other older adults in the community. “Kavod Senior Life is all about serving individuals from all walks of life and help them age gracefully and with dignity,” commented Michael Klein, Chief Executive Officer. Both residents and non-residents will benefit from having valuable services either on-site or close by, easing any issues with transportation and/or timing. All service providers partnering with Kavod at the center will be skilled at working with low-income and diverse populations.
Kavod Senior Life is a 501(c) 3 organization providing housing and other services to older adults in the Denver community based on Jewish values. The organization receives valuable support from a myriad of community partners, corporations and individuals and is currently in its 45th year of operation.
