Highland Recreation Center events – Feb. 2024

Feb 6     2:00-4:00 pm     Presentation from Buffalo Bill Museum: Galloping Gourmet         Author and historian Steve Friesen explores the evolving role of eating and drinking in Buffalo Bill’s life. On the American Plains, Cody ate simple foods such as cornbread, fried “yellow-legged” chicken, and hardtack. As Buffalo Bill’s fame increased, so did his desire and opportunities for fine dining. Attendees will enjoy tasty samples.   This event is free but registration required.

Feb 7    12:30-3:30 pm        Party Bridge                         The game of bridge has two main parts: the Bidding (also called the Auction) and the Play. Bridge is a partnership game requiring four players. Bridge is scheduled every Wednesday year round. This is a drop-in activity free with membership or with the purchase of a day pass.

Feb 8    9:00 am-2:00 pm   AARP Tax Assistance           AARP is with us every Tuesday from Feb 8 – April 11 to help seniors prepare and file taxes for free. An appointment is required; walk-ins are not accepted. Call Highland at 720-865-0600 for availability and information about required documents.

Feb 13  1:00 – 3:00pm      Tea Dance with Tom Yook      Enjoy an afternoon of live entertainment and dancing with Tom Yook. Tom plays a collection of well known songs for you to dance to. Admission is $7/person paid directly to Tom, in cash or check.

 Feb 27              Spring Registration Opens                     Starting at Noon, registration for our Spring activities and events opens both online and in person. The Spring activity calendars should be published the week prior for viewing.
