Heritage Fine Arts Guild Issues Call for Entries for Fall Art Show
Local Watercolor and Pastel Artist Cal Johnson to Serve as Judge
LITTLETON, CO – The Heritage Fine Arts Guild of Arapahoe County announces a call for entries for its member fall art show Oct. 4-31 at Bemis Public Library in Littleton. The exhibit of original member paintings is free and open to the public. The registration deadline is Fri., Sept. 23 and each member artist may submit up to three entries for a total $20 fee.

New members are welcome to the Heritage Fine Arts Guild, which sponsors additional art shows, weekly painting sessions, workshops and demonstrations during the year. Annual membership is only $35 for adults and $25 for students.
The public is invited to meet the artists at a reception on Tues., Oct. 4 from 5:30-7:00 p.m.; light refreshments will be served. Both the exhibit and the reception will be located in the library’s lower-level gallery, accessible by elevator. All the works are originals and available for sale directly from the participating artists.
The judge for the fall art show is Cal Johnson, an award-winning artist who is a Signature member of the Colorado Watercolor Society and the Colorado Pastel Society. Johnson creates colorful and realistic pastels and watercolors of landscapes, buildings and flowers. He also paints abstracts in liquid acrylic and gold gilt. Johnson’s work is on display at the Georgetown Gallery in Georgetown and the Majestic Gallery in Idaho Springs.
The Bemis Public Library location is 6014 South Datura Street, halfway between West Littleton Boulevard on the north and West Caley Avenue on the south and about eight blocks east of Santa Fe Drive. The library is immediately west of the Littleton Museum. The art exhibit can be viewed any time the library is open. Hours are: Monday-Thursday 9:00 am-9:00 pm; Friday and Saturday: 9:00 am-5:00 pm; and Sunday 1:00-5:00 pm.

The Heritage Fine Arts Guild of Arapahoe County (www.heritage-guild.com) is a non-profit corporation organized in 1974 by Colorado artists. The Guild hosts art exhibits at several local Adventist hospitals and spring and fall art shows at Bemis Public Library in Littleton. In cooperation with Colorado Gallery of the Arts at Arapahoe Community College, the Guild holds “This is Colorado,” an annual, juried, statewide art show; the 2016 event is set for October 10-November 3. The Guild also sponsors free weekly group painting sessions, as well as workshops by accomplished guest artists. Membership is open to individuals at all levels of experience in fine arts media, as well as those interested in art appreciation. The Guild is supported in part by a grant from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District serving the seven-county Denver, Colorado, metropolitan area.
