Gallery 1261 presents Group X-2

DENVER, Colo. — Ah, summer!, that wonderful time when galleries toss artists together for a bit of experimenting with ideas and form, subject and concept. Often a mixed bag, group shows generally offer but a taste, not a full course meal. GROUP X-2 however reaches beyond the expected in several ways, first by featuring new works by some of its most daring thinkers and second by bringing in several highly sought-after contemporary visionaries. The show opens with a reception for the artists Friday, June 6 from 5-8:00 PM.

Known as a venue where artists are encouraged to experiment and, thereby, grow their vision and craft, Gallery 1261Õs curator and master artist Quang Ho, has tapped Daniel Sprick, and Michael Workman, Dan McCaw, Danny McCaw and John McCaw, as well as Gregory Block, Gordon Brown, Mark Daily, Dianne L. Massey Dunbar, Ron Hicks, and Jeff Legg to dig deeper into their subconscious for a fresh glimpse at the quotidian. Always on the lookout for other artists to enhance the experience, he has brought in several greatly sought-after contemporary visionaries: Kim Cogan, David Shevlino, Aaron Westerberg and Vincent Xeus. Spanning both coasts, these new artists range from highly touted Cogan, Shevlino and Westerberg to the relatively unknown Xeus. The mix is electric in thought, intention and style.
