Free Community Walking Festival with Over 30 Themed Walks

Denver, Colorado – Join us for a one of a kind FREE community walking event in NE Denver! The Stapleton Area Transportation Management Association (TMA) is launching their 2nd annual NE Walk Fest on Saturday, May 10th from 9a.m. -1p.m. in the Holly Square area of NE Park Hill (33rd & Holly Street, Denver, 80207).

This year’s NE Walk Fest has activated over 30 free themed walking trips which will be hosted by area experts all taking place between 9AM-1PM. Walking trips will launch from the main event zone of 33rd & Holly in the NE Park Hill region and from various NE Denver locations. Walking trip themes include Denver History and Culture, Neighborhood Walkability, Pedestrian Safety, Urban Gardening and Medicinal Herbs, Public Art, Local Business, Bluff Lake Nature Center, Sand Creek Regional Greenway, Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife Refuge, Mother’s Day, Business & Career ‘Walkshops’, Denver Literary History, Local Watershed, Walk with City Council Member Albus Brooks and so much more. All trips will be leaving from various NE Denver starting locations from 9:00AM-1:00PM on Saturday, May 10th. This event will also host a Holly Square Open house with many free fitness and wellness classes and workshops sponsored by Hiawatha Davis Recreation Center, Nancy P Anschutz Community Center, Boys & Girls Club of Metro Denver, Mi Casa Innovation Lab, the Pauline Robinson Branch Library, and more.

This event will also showcase focused walkability awareness and education from WalkDenver to help make educate participants on pedestrian safety and on how we can work to make our streets, intersections, and destination more accessible and walkable.

The Stapleton Area TMA is working alongside Denver Public Schools’ Office of Family and Community Engagement to offer a “NE Walk Fest Challenge” to all DPS schools in NE Denver.  The Elementary School, Middle School and High School that has the highest percentage of registrations for a specific schoolon the day of the event will each win $1,000.

Where: NE Walk Fest Kick-off, Holly Square Open House, and free activities located at main event zone at Pauline Robinson Public Library on the NW Corner of 33rd & Holly Street.
