Colorado Springs—Healthier Living Colorado™— Thursdays, June 2-July 7 from 9:30 a.m.-noon at AgeWell Medical Associates, 2350 International Circle in Colorado Springs. This program helps people deal with the challenges of living with an ongoing health condition such as heart disease, a lung condition, diabetes or arthritis. Broomfield—Chronic Pain Self-Management— Mondays, June 6-July 18 from 5:30-8 p.m. on at the Broomfield Community Center, 280 Spader Way in Broomfield. This free program helps people deal with the challenges of living with chronic pain. Classes are highly participative, where mutual support and success build the participants’ confidence in their ability to manage their health and maintain active and fulfilling lives. Greeley—Healthier Living Colorado-Diabetes™— Tuesdays, June 7-July 12 from 9-11:30 a.m. on at the North Colorado Medical Center, 1801 26th St. in Greeley. This free class is designed for people living with diabetes and their caregivers and teaches making healthy choices and self-management skills. It is highly participatory, where mutual support and success build the participants’ confidence in their ability to manage their diabetes and maintain an active fulfilling life. Lakewood—National Diabetes Prevention Program— Wednesdays, June 22, 2016-May 24, 2017. The class meets for 16 weekly sessions followed by six monthly sessions from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Green Mountain Recreation Center, 13198 W. Green Mountain Drive in Lakewood. If you have pre-diabetes or other risk factors for type 2 diabetes, it’s time to take charge of your health. The National Diabetes Prevention Program, led by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), utilizes lifestyle change intervention to reduce your risk of type 2 diabetes.
