Four New Health and Wellness Leader Trainings Offered at COAW Academy May 12-18 in Lakewood

The next leader training Academy sponsored by COAW will be from May 12-18 at the Link Recreation Center, 1295 S. Reed St. in Lakewood. Trainings are geared toward healthcare, recreation and wellness professionals and are open to the community. Upon completion, leaders are encouraged and supported in implementing classes in their communities.

There are 13 leader trainings offered at the Academy this year, including four new areas: Community Health Coach, Motivational Interviewing for health and wellness professionals, Chronic Pain Self-Management and Cancer: Thriving and Surviving.

Other leader trainings include balance, falls prevention and chronic disease self-management topics such as Community Falls Prevention certificate, N’Balance instructor training, several instructor trainings for Tai Chi for Osteoporosis and Tai Chi for Arthritis for Falls Prevention, A Matter of Balance leader training and Healthier Living Colorado leader training.

COAW specializes in providing training for class leaders in evidence-based programs that are offered to communities. Continuing education credits are offered for many classes and COAW is accredited as an authorized CEU provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training.
