English Paper Pieced Quilt Exhibit at the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum through January 18, 2020
In the British Style: English Paper Pieced Quilts and Antique Paper Pieced Quilts from the RMQM Collection on display through January 18, 2020. Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum issued a Call for Entries for quilts using the very British Style of English Paper Piecing. Quilts made from this longtime method, which is very labor intensive are hand pieced, which enables the sewer/quilter to accomplish very precise and detailed work. Quilts on display range from traditional patterns to the current and very modern abstract works of art. On display in the small gallery, a selection of Museum quilts which have been constructed using the English Paper Pieced method, along with some of Tina Gravatt’s miniature quilts made with English Paper Piecing.

- The Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum was incorporated as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization in 1982; RMQM opened in 1990 in downtown Golden, Colorado, with a gift of 101 quilts from the personal collection of Eugenia Mitchell, the Museum’s founder.
- RMQM was the third quilt museum in the United States in 1990 and is now one of eleven dedicated quilt museums in the country.
