Petal Biking – Michigan to Colorado
Michael Saari built a three-wheel Recumbent Tricycle or Pedal Bike. He pedaled from upper Michigan to Colorado to see his mother. Watch slides of his incredible journey and hear heartwarming stories of the wonderful people he met along the way. Michael will bring his specially equipped bike for us to see. Free, but please register so we have enough seating.

“Hair Sparkles”
Want a fun way to jazz up your hair? Try silk hair tinsel! The tinsel is tied into your hair and can stay in for weeks. Best on straight or slightly wavy hair that is at least 5-6 inches long. Medicare 101 for Seniors
This informative presentation is an overview of Medicare. What it is, how it works, and what it covers, especially under Part A and B. You need to sign up for Medicare BEFORE you turn age 65 – so if you have a 65th birthday coming up, this class is essential. Our presenter is William “Bear” Kistler, an independent SHIP certified Medicare counselor.

If you need help with Medicare issues, you can receive one-on-one assistance from a counselor who is specially trained on Medicare insurance programs, including Medicare Part D enrollment. Community Gardens Sign-up
The Eagle View Community Gardens have 14 raised planting beds to lease to seniors wanting to garden who don’t have a space at home. Beds are raised 24” to allow easy access for planting, weeding and watering without excessive bending and stooping. Center will provide the beds, hose and water. Participants bring their own tools, seeds and organic fertilizer. Participants must agree to maintain their bed throughout the season.

In honor of April Fool’s Day, Ed Weising is back with an entertaining presentation about “Humorous Hoaxes, Sleazy Scams and Scurrilous Schemes in Colorado History.” You will learn about the crazy things that people believed that bilked them out of their life’s savings during the early years of Colorado. Hoaxes and scams were prevalent during the 19th century including the great “diamond hoax” and “McGinty,” the petrified man.
