Dementia Caregiver Support Group
Are you caring for someone with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia? This group gives caregivers the opportunity to share with each other their concerns, coping techniques and tips for caring for a loved one with dementia. Group is sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association and led by Sue Herzog. January’s support group will end at 7:00 so caregivers can attend a special presentation by the Alzheimer’s Association on “Communicating Effectively with Loved One with Dementia”.

Effective Communication Strategies
During the holidays, you may have found it difficult to visit with older relatives with dementia. This educational program by the Alzheimer’s Association teaches caregivers, family and friends to decode verbal and behavioral communication by someone with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Participants leave with strategies for meaningful connections with people in early, middle and late stage dementia. Program is free, however donations to the Alzheimer’s Association are welcome. Our Friday Feast entertainment is “Music by Gary Lee”. Gary currently gives nearly 400 live performances a year playing the Morrison Digital Trumpet, which makes this a truly unique entertainment experience. His program “Shows Songs through the Decades” will features songs from the 40s to the 70s. Something for everyone! Our meal will White Chicken Chili, Sandwich and dessert provided by Inglenook.

Free income tax preparation and electronic filing for all Adams County taxpayers with an income of $56,000 or less. Bring last year’s (2015) completed tax return, photo ID, Social Security cards, W-2s, 1099/1099 forms, proof of any other income, and deductible expenses. Drop-in only; there are no appointments.

The Low Vision Support Group at Eagle View gives seniors 55+ the opportunity to connect with peers to receive emotional support, maintain hope, and process frustration during the transition of living with visual impairment. Drop in to the monthly support group to connect with others
