E-Recycling Event and Planet Party Celebration at Fairgrounds

Adams County and the City of Thornton are partnering with Metech Recycling to offer residents an opportunity to responsibly dispose of their electronic waste. Residents are invited to bring their old TVs, monitors, computers, laptops, and other electronics to the Adams County Fairgrounds and Regional Park, 9755 Henderson Road, Brighton, on March 26, 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

There is a $5 per vehicle fee for all electronics, including up to one TV or computer monitor. A $10 fee will be assessed for each vehicle carrying up to three TVs and/or computer monitors, with a maximum of three TVs and/or computer monitors accepted per vehicle. Proof of residency is required.

“Our E-recycling event last year was a great success,” said Julia Ferguson, Adams County sustainability coordinator. “We collected more than 13,000 lbs of electronic waste which otherwise would have gone into our landfills.”

Online and advance registration for these events is highly encouraged and available at AdamsCountyandCityofThorntonElectronicsRecycling.eventbrite.com<https://www.eventbrite.com/>.

Sustainable Adams County is also hosting the Annual Planet Party on March 26 at the same location. Sustainable vendors, food trucks, and activities for kids and adults will be available to all residents. Vendors will include local hand-made goods and services to help you lower your electricity and water consumption.
