Denver Veterans Day Celebration, Saturday, Nov. 9
~ Run • Rejoice • Remember celebration features a 5K Race, Parade, Honor Roll Reading and Fireworks Show ~
DENVER – This Veterans Day, celebrate and honor those who have served in the armed services at the Denver Veterans Day Celebration, Run • Rejoice • Remember, on Saturday, November 9 in downtown Denver. The event will kick off with the Denver Veterans Day 5K race, followed by a parade and honor roll reading, and conclude with a celebration on Auraria Campus that will feature a variety of family-friendly activities.
Schedule of Events
- Denver Veterans Day 5K Race, Auraria Campus, 8 a.m. The Denver Veterans Day 5K is a memorial race that will begin on Auraria Campus. The race benefits the Cadet Community Leadership Association and the Russell B. Rippetoe Foundation. Race registration is open to civilians, veterans and kids. - Denver Veterans Day Parade, Downtown Denver, 10 a.m. The parade will feature military units, vintage cars, marching bands and floats.
- Denver Honor Roll Reading, Colorado Tribute Veterans Monument (Broadway & Lincoln and Colfax and 14th), 11:30a.m. The Honor Roll Reading will pay tribute to Colorado’s Fallen War Heroes from Iraq and Afghanistan.
- Denver Veterans Day Celebration, Auraria Campus, 12:30 – 6 p.m. This celebration will feature music, food trucks, a bouncy castle, a presentation of colors and fireworks display.
The Denver Veterans Celebration is sponsored by United Launch Alliance. It is coordinated by Denver Army ROTC,Denver United Veterans Council, Colorado Tribute to Veterans, Auraria Campus and the City and County of Denver.
