Denver Area Council Boy Scouts of America seeks senior volunteers

Our new Intergenerational program teams senior age volunteers with kids in grades 1st-5th. We are seeking volunteers for After School programs located in the Denver Metro Area.

Description
Denver Area Council Boy Scouts of America is a non-profit organization dedicated to motivating young people with a message to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes. This volunteership provides the opportunity to inspire youths to become leaders and to participate in building young people of character and confidence.

Ideal For:

  • Retired citizens
  • Someone who wants to give back to the community

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in after school scouting programs at local elementary and middle schools
  • Serve as a second person in administering program activities and lessons
  • Attend program training provided by Boy Scouts of America

Program Dates:

  • Programs run from September 2013 through May 2014
  • May volunteer in three month increments if desired

Expectations:

  • A true commitment to working with children in a high needs environment
  • Part-time availability between 1:00-6:00 PM, Monday-Friday
  • Hours per week to be determined upon your schedule
  • A background check is required of all participants
  • Neat and clean appearance; T-shirts are provided
