Cure spring fever with Senior Center trips

The cure for spring fever just might be found in one of the new day trips offered by the Estes Park Senior Center.

A minimum of ten participants is required for all Senior Center trips and registration deadlines apply for each event. Detailed information on each trip can be found at the Senior Center or on the website at www.estes.org/seniorcenter.

Members of Estes Park Senior Citizens Center, Inc. (EPSCC, INC.) receive discounted prices on trips.

Register by Thursday, March 28
for a new trip to Cinzzetti’s Italian Market in Westminster on Thursday, April 11.

This trip departs from the Senior Center at 10:15 a.m. and returns at approximately 3:00 p.m. The cost is $28 for EPSCC, INC. members or $30 for non-members and includes van transportation, meal and dessert. Step foot into an authentic “Tuscan Village” centered on a granite and cobblestone piazza with over 60 authentic Italian dishes being prepared fresh by trained chefs at fourteen specialty cooking stations.

Register by Wednesday, April 3
for the April 17 trip to the Denver Art Museum to see the new
exhibit, “Georgia O’Keefe in New Mex ico: Architecture, Katsinam and the Land.” The cost is $31.50 for EPSCC, INC. members or $33.50 for non-members and includes van transportation, parking and docent led tour of the exhibit as well as admission to the rest of the Museum. Lunch is Dutch treat onsite. This exhibition features 53 O’Keefe works including 15 rarely seen pictures of different Hopi katsina tihu, commonly referred to as kachina dolls. This exhibit explores New Mexico landscapes, cultural objects and architecture.

Register by Monday, April 29
for the May 13 all day trip to Black Hawk and Central City. This trip departs from the Senior Center at 9:00 a.m. and returns at approximately 6:00 p.m. The cost is $25 for EPSCC, INC. members or $27 for non-members and includes van transportation and parking. Spend the day with friends at casinos, taking in the buffets or taking a self-guided walking tour of the historic communities.

Register by Thursday, May 2
for the May 19 trip to Coors Field in Denver to see the Rockies play the Giants. The trip departs from the Senior Center at 11:30 a.m. and returns at approximately 7:00 p.m. The cost is $40 for EPSCC, INC. members or $42 for non-members and includes reserved seat ticket, van transportation and parking. Lunch is Dutch treat.

Let’s cheer the Rockies on to a great season with this spring trip!

Register by Wednesday, March 20
for the one seat remaining for the Thursday, May 23 performance of Les Miserables at the Buell Theater in Denver. The cost is $64 for EPSCC, INC. members or $66 for non-members and includes van transportation, parking, a box lunch and reserved seating. This trip departs at noon and returns to the Senior Center at appproximately 7:00 p.m.

Register by Wednesday, May 15
for the May 29 trip to the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg, Colorado. This all day trip departs from the Senior Center at 9:30 a.m. and returns at approximately 3:30 p.m. The cost is $47 for EPSCC, INC. members or $49 for non-members and includes van transportation, admission and a sack lunch. The Wild Animal Sanctuary is one of America’s largest, caring for more than 290 lions, tigers, bears, wolves, leopards and other large carnivores that have been rescued from abuse or were illegally kept. Utilizing a catwalk which towers 35 feet above ground, participants will view large acreage habitats across the Eastern Plains of Colorado. There are several picnic spots on the grounds to enjoy a sack lunch.
